What is an Accredited Practising Dietitian?
Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) apply the science of human nutrition to foster an understanding of the relationship between food and health. They are trained in medical nutrition therapy to assist people to make dietary choices that will gain or maintain good health and to prevent or treat illness and disease and promote optimal sports performance.
Our university qualified and DAA accredited dietitians deliver specialised education and advice for a variety of medical conditions.
Do I need a referral?
- Generally no, however if you have significant health issues we recommend you do obtain a referral from your GP
- You may be eligible to receive an TCA/EPC referral from your GP
- Entitled DVA clients are eligible for clinically necessary treatment upon referral from the treating GP
